TITLE: THE MOTHERS
GENRE: NOVEL
WRITTEN BY:
JENNIFER GILMORE
SUMMARY:
This novel is about one woman named “Jesse”, for her
is not possible to get pregnant that is the main reason why she and her husband
begins a trip to an adoption agency.
During the travel she visits her mother to ask her to
care her dog named Harriet.
In this visit to her mother she remembers her life and
relationship with her mother and sister when he was child. And remembers too
the moment when she met her husband and his mother, and the relationship
between her husband and her mother and law, because her main concern is how will
she be in her role of mother, the reason why she remembers that. I think the
novel it´s hard to follow because is really difficult to understand the
chronological order of the thoughts of the main characters.
But in the end the writer of this novel takes deep
into the experience of maternal desire of one woman. Because I think that is emotionally resonant
thought in this novel.
That novel is
the collection penguin’s readers.
